MARCH UPDATE FROM SUNDAY ROSS

I am coming close to finishing two years at Biola, which is really exciting!  I am enjoying all of my classes this semester.  There are two Bible classes that I am taking, a Theology class and a New Testament class.  Theology is interesting because it is helping me learn how to explain why I believe what I believe.  New Testament is a lot of deeper study into the history of the books of the New Testament.  As far as Journalism goes, I am taking Photojournalism II, which is where we are delving into learning how to be a better photographer by seeing the world differently.  My professor is pushing us to be more creative.  It has only been a month of school, and I have already learned so much!

This semester has also been different because I have a job now.  I work at the cafeteria at Biola three days a week.  It is hard work, but I am enjoying it!  Besides working, I also have an event coming up at school called Missions Conference.  It is where they bring in speakers and take off school so students can attend.  So I am looking forward to that.

Please pray as I continue to raise support for my tuition.  I also have loans from the past two years, so if I could begin paying those off, that would be great.  If you would like to support me, please visit this link to my PayPal account https://www.paypal.me/SundayRoss .  Thank you so much for all of your prayers and love.  I am constantly amazed at how blessed my family and I are!

GET TO KNOW SUNDAY ROSS

Hi, I’m Sunday Ross! I was born in 1996 in Houston, Texas and lived there until May of 2003. At six years old, my family moved to the Philippines where I lived as a missionary kid until I was 17. From kindergarten through ninth grade I was homeschooled which gave me and my four siblings the flexibility to go places and experience many things. In tenth grade I entered Faith Academy, a Christian missionary kid school. Attending Faith Academy in Manila was great and I had the privilege of being a part of many extra-curricular activities including choir, drama, and ministry.  Some of my other interests outside of school are having photo shoots with my friends, reading good books, blogging, traveling to new places, and listening to music.

SCHOOL AND DEGREE OF STUDY

Biola is located in La Mirada, California, an hour away from downtown Los Angeles. The student population is about 5,000, and many of those people live on campus including me! I live in the dorms on campus on a floor of about 70 girls and it’s a lot of fun.

I am majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Visual Media. This means that my focus is on photography and design. One of my strengths academically is writing. My main interest is in photography, but I am enjoying it since it allows me to learn different skills that I will use in a future job.

COLLEGE EXPENSES

Our family income requires that I seek financial aid to attend college and I would like you to join me in praying about how you might have an impact on my life as I pursue my education.

Tuition – $32,142 annual

Dorm – $5,000 annual

Meal Plan – $4,000 annual

Books – $200-500 per semester

Health Insurance – $848 per semester

In addition to the standard categories of identifiable needs, of course there are always expenses in college and if you would like to help with my recreation, living expense, movies or trips to the coffees shop to study, read and socialize, that line item would be greatly appreciated as well.
